The Tikbalang is an engkanto with the combined physique of a human and a horse. It has immense strength and speed, and is very territorial. They live in trees, mostly in Balete. To protect themselves, and to avoid being seen, they usually lead them astray. To counter this, it is believed that if one finds themselves lost with trees surrounding them, they must wear the opposite side of their clothes. In addition to this, it is also believed that one can enslave a Tikbalang by snatching three golden hair strands from it.
