The Tamawo is a magical creature native to the Hiligaynon.  It is said that it can communicate using the tulali, a kind of bamboo flute.

 

The Tamawo is not evil by nature, but it is a mischievous and playful creature with tigadlun, or the power of invisibility known to take children and beautiful maidens by offering them food. 

Although they can make themselves appear as animals, the Tamawo isn't hard to distinguish as they have rounder eyes and longer nails in their hands and feet.
