""πΊπππ! πΊπππ! π«ππππ π«πππ ππππ πππππ! π³ππππ ππ πππππππ, ππππππ ππ ππππππππππ!" this is what the Manananggal chants as she applies oil during her ritualistic transformation. A famous folklore creature in the Philippines, the Manananggal is a kind of Aswang that has the ability to separate its lower and upper body. This power is only gained when it's a full-moon night as it flies above the roof of its next prey, which are usually pregnant women and infants in their womb.
The Manananggal can be slain by sprinkling ashes, salt, or vinegar to its lower half; or by fire or stabbing it with a sharp bamboo tip.
