ambaboy
The Ambaboy, otherwise known as Pinading, is the spirit of nature according to the Igorots. The Ambaboy appears in the form of a giant snake and lives within the Sakkang tree, which the Igorots consider as sacred.
Whenever an Igorot falls ill, it is believed that it is being possessed by the ambaboy; hence, they sacrifice livestock and Tapuy (rice wine) to the tree believed to be the home of an Ambaboy.
